Product details
The Baies fruit herbarium unfolds the fruitiness of a basket full of cool, tangy blackcurrants, complemented by a few hand-picked roses. Juicy ripeness blends with green and floral notes to create an utterly fresh composition. The result of exceptional savoir-faire and craftsmanship, the art of perfumery meets the expertise of candle-making. Each candle is made from a blend of several types of wax and a high-quality perfume concentrate, as well as a selected wick that guarantees perfect fragrance diffusion and combustion. Handcrafted by experienced master wax makers in two workshops near Paris and in Provence.
Care instructions: Your Diptyque candle is an exceptional handcrafted creation and deserves the utmost care. Here are some tips to optimise its lifespan and ensure safe use.
Preparing the room:
- Place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
- Protect delicate materials such as wood or marble with a base or a tray.
- Keep candles away from flammable materials.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
Lighting the candle:
- We recommend lighting your candle with a match to avoid burns.
- When lighting the candle for the first time, make sure to let it burn until an even layer of liquid wax has formed (approx. 4 hours, depending on the fragrance). This prevents the wax from tunnelling and allows the wick to absorb the wax properly, ensuring an even burn. Wicks may produce a small amount of smoke when first lit.
Whilst burning:
- After the first lighting, do not let the candle burn for more than 4 hours at a time.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Do not move a burning candle or a candle that is still hot but not burning.
- Keep it away from draughts.
- Leave at least 10 cm between two candles.
After each use:
- Extinguish the flame: use a candle snuffer to avoid splashes of hot wax.
- Recentre the wick as soon as the candle has gone out.
- Before relighting your candle, trim the wick with a wick trimmer (ideal length: 3 to 5 mm) to avoid a fire hazard.
Final note:
- Do not use your candle once only 5 mm of wax remains or the metal wick holder becomes visible.
Care & storage:
- We recommend ventilating the room after burning a candle.
- Allow the wax to cool completely before moving your candle.
- Store it in a dry, temperature-controlled place (15 °C–25 °C / 59 °F–77 °F), away from direct sunlight, to prevent discolouration, pigment changes or the wax flaking off.
