In 1760, James Henry Creed founded the Creed fragrance house. He quickly achieved fame at the court of England. Queen Victoria, who was also Empress of India, declared Creed and its noble perfumes the official purveyor to the court of the high nobility. Within a very short time, Creed fragrances were favoured by all the royal houses of Europe. Under the patronage of Empress Eugénie, the House of Creed settled in Paris in 1854.
Creed has created a legacy of incomparable fragrances that are appreciated by perfume connoisseurs and all admirers of quality, style and élan. Over the centuries, the Creed family has created more than 200 fragrances, all of which bear witness to a unique creative spirit that, along with a keen inherited nose, has been passed down from father to son over seven generations.
Today, Olivier Creed, "Créateur Parfumeur" and direct descendant of James Henry Creed, continues this great tradition. Accompanied by his son Erwin, Olivier travels extensively to source, research, test and commission the finest materials. Rose from Bulgaria, Turkey and Morocco, Italian jasmine, Florentine iris, tuberose from India, Haitian vetiver, Bourbon vanilla, Calabrian bergamot and Parma violet. These are just a few of the countless treasures in Creed's laboratory. They are all ingredients that have been used in haute perfumery for many centuries, even millennia. Still based in Paris, with a factory in Fontainebleau, Creed produces many of its own essences using a traditional infusion technique that allows Creed to maintain the superior quality and authenticity of its fragrances. The process is complex and incredibly meticulous, but Creed is driven by artistry and perfection. A timeless, modern act of creation: perfume of the past, fragrance of the future.
