Description
Blooming citrus fruits. Unlike other white flowers that exude opulence, the scent of magnolia is citrus-fresh. Carried by woody undertones, the citrusy balance of bergamot, lemon and grapefruit intensifies into darker notes of oakmoss and patchouli in an olfactory representation of the sun and its shadow. Sporty chic of the 1960s.
- Top notes: lemon; grapefruit; bergamot
- Base notes: oakmoss; patchouli
Carlos Benaïm
Carlos Benaïm is considered to be America's greatest living perfumer. As the author of the legendary Polo Ralph Lauren fragrance and many other popular classics, he owes his success to a great intellectual curiosity that has repeatedly led him into a world beyond the boundaries of perfumery.
He discovered perfumery as a child through his father, who worked as a pharmacist in Morocco and had a passion for extracting essential oils. "Every summer," recalls Carlos Benaïm: "My father and I would drive through the countryside in our jeep, always going to picking and distillation sites, and I could feel his enthusiasm growing." He later acquired a comprehensive knowledge of perfume composition under the guidance of the renowned American perfumer Ernest Shiftan.
