Description
Rough masculinity. For the man who would not otherwise wear perfume, who believes in naked attraction and relies on the sheer seductive power of his rough appearance. The spicy freshness of pimiento, angelica and juniper blossom blends into a woody sea of cedarwood, patchouli and vetiver. Galbanum and incense contribute to the mysterious enrichment of the fragrance, which comes across as the natural scent of a man. Silent attraction.
- Top notes: pimiento; angelica; juniper
- Base notes: patchouli; vetiver; incense
Dominique Ropion
Dominique Ropion is a bold perfectionist, a true inventor. The risks he takes are always accompanied by a tireless quest for exact olfactory balance and flawless composition. His fragrances are like great architectural masterpieces: In the same way that a bridge whose seemingly miraculous suspension of weight is actually the bundling of opposing forces, Dominique often balances excessive doses of powerful ingredients with meticulously measured, more subtle accords until the composition carries itself. A good perfume, he likes to say, must always appear obvious.
His training began at Roure Bertrand Dupont in Grasse, continued in Paris and culminated in a partnership with Jean-Louis Sieuzac, whose astonishing, encyclopedic knowledge of perfumery made him one of the greatest technicians in the industry. Frédéric Malle worked with him for more than 25 years and accompanied him through many phases of rigorous experimentation. Together they defied the conventions of perfumery to create modern masterpieces.
