Description
Word of honor. In the Middle East, a promise between two people is based on a strict code of honor. Frédéric Malle celebrates this principle with his own promise, whose beating heart is made up of two noble rose varieties: rose essence from Bulgaria and rose absolute from Turkey are cheered up by apple, pink pepper and clove and grounded with a sensual base of patchouli, cypriol and labdanum; an accord that is as unbreakable and invisible as a vow. Giving trust and receiving trust.
- Top notes: pink pepper, rosemary oil, apple accord
- Heart notes: Bulgarian rose oil, Turkish rose absolute, clove oil
- Base notes: patchouli heart, amboroxan, labdanum, cypriol heart
Dominique Ropion
Dominique Ropion is a bold perfectionist, a true inventor. The risks he takes are always accompanied by a tireless quest for exact olfactory balance and flawless composition. His fragrances are like great architectural masterpieces: In the same way that a bridge whose seemingly miraculous suspension of weight is actually the bundling of opposing forces, Dominique often balances excessive doses of powerful ingredients with meticulously measured, more subtle accords until the composition carries itself. A good perfume, he likes to say, must always appear obvious.
His training began at Roure Bertrand Dupont in Grasse, continued in Paris and culminated in a partnership with Jean-Louis Sieuzac, whose astonishing, encyclopedic knowledge of perfumery made him one of the greatest technicians in the industry. Frédéric Malle worked with him for more than 25 years and accompanied him through many phases of rigorous experimentation. Together they defied the conventions of perfumery to create modern masterpieces.
